In Cuyahoga County, 13 percent of the population have been diagnosed with diabetes and an additional 33 percent have pre-diabetes. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are associated with serious health complications.

Providing Care Close to Home
The Cleveland Foundation and UH have joined to stop the rising toll of diabetes on city residents. Through a $1 million startup grant from the Cleveland Foundation, the UH Diabetes & Obesity Center, which opened in 2025, brings our community enhanced local access to diabetes care, education, outreach and research. The center also offers comprehensive management of thyroid, pituitary, and other endocrine disorders. Watch below to learn more.
